Golden Years began with one family. Our own. A grandmother living alone, some of us fifteen minutes down the road and some of us in North Carolina, all asking the same question every evening. Is she alright? We did not want to keep ringing to check, and we did not want her to feel watched. We wanted to know she was okay without having to ask.
That is still the test we hold every decision against. If a feature would make someone feel supervised in their own home, it does not ship.
We are working with a small number of families before going on general sale. Each home teaches us something the last one did not. How a kitchen is really used at night, which signals are noise, what a daughter actually wants to see at seven in the morning.
It means we grow slowly. We think that is the right trade for something a family trusts with a parent.
The understanding happens on the hub, in the home. Video never leaves the house unless you open a live view yourself. There are no ads, no analytics and no outside trackers. Not a policy we could quietly change, because the data never reaches us in the first place.
Golden Years supports independent living. It is not a medical device and not an emergency response service, and we will never market it as one.
